Headline:
Koufax stymies Twins
Sandy Koufax threw a four-hit shutout striking out ten as the Dodgers defeated Minnesota 6-0 before a jubilant crowd at Dodger Stadium. Lou Johnson had the decisive hit in the sixth inning a three-run home run. Jim Kaat, the Twins pitcher, lasted only three innings allowing 3 runs on 4 hits. Minnesota's manager Sam Mele will perhaps be second guessed for having taken Kaat out so early, but with Koufax pitching so brilliantly it might not have mattered.
