Barons beat Dodgers
The 1994 Birminingham Barons topped the 1980 San Antonion Dodgers, in front of a capacity crowd today, 6-2. The crowd was on hand to see basketball player Michael Jordan. Jordan bat was quiet except for 2 successful sacrifice bunts. The Barons knocked starter Fernando Valenzuela out of the game, and shut down the Dodger offense although giving up 11 hits. Reliever Orel Hershiser helped keep San Antonio in the game, but the Barons were the better team on this day.
